Best New Anime about Love (2021)

Romance is probably one of the most liked anime genres. It just makes you feel hundreds of emotions at the same time, making you all warm and fuzzy inside. The second year of the Coronavirus Pandemic, that being 2021, not only gave us with a bunch of action-packed anime, but also had some romance in store for us. So, without further ado, let’s introduce them!

Komi-San Can’t Communicate

Komi-San Can’t Communicate Manga is just amazing. It was a highly anticipated anime and 2021 really blessed us with it. The story revolves around Shoko Komi who is a socially awkward high school student. No matter how hard she tries, she can’t communicate with others. Her dream is to make 100 friends and one of his classmates, Tadano, decides to help her in realizing her dream. He must help her communicate with different people in order to get her new friends.

Horimiya

The anime adaptation of Horimiya was another surprise for the fans this year. It is one of the best romantic anime to date. The story involves Hori and Miyamura who are two high school students. Both of them have different personalities at school and different at home. Both of them happen to know about each other’s true personalities and grow close together. Their sweet love story begins that makes us feel all warm inside.

My Next Life As a Villainess

The second season of My Next Life as a Villainess came out earlier in 2021. Catarina Claes is the main character of the series who got reincarnated to another word. As she has dealt with all the death flags in the first season, she can lead her life peacefully now. However, Catarina is unaware of the challenges the new people are bringing at her school. The game she’s playing is not over yet. 

Girlfriend, Girlfriend

Girlfriend, Girlfriend has to be the weirdest romance anime of all time. However, it's pretty interesting in its own way. The story introduces us to Naoya Mukai who has no luck when it comes to love. However, luckily, he’s able to date his childhood friend, Saki Saki. Now , when he’s trying to commit to the relationship, he receives a confession from another girl named Nagisa Minase. Naoya rejects her at first but later decides to ask Saki Saki to date her as well. Saki Saki has to submit and their twisted relationship begins.

Bokutachi no Remake 

Bokutachi no Remake is a beautiful story that introduces us to Kyoya Hashiba who is not doing well at his work. One day, he wakes up 10 years in the past when he’s still in the university. There, he meets all the people from the future that he admired. He befriends them and decides to turn his life around this time.

Anticipated New Anime Corner! "March Comes In Like a Lion"!

Rei Kiriyama is a 17-year-old boy who recently started living alone, financed by his salary as a professional Shogi player. Despite his independence, however, he's yet to mature emotionally, and his problems continue to haunt him in his daily life. His relationship with his adoptive family is strained, and he has difficulties interacting with his fellow high school students. Meanwhile, his professional career has entered a slump. Burdened with the heavy expectations placed on him as the fifth to become pro in middle school, his wins and losses are fluctuating as his record and progression into the ranks begin to stagnate.

Acquainted with Rei are the three Kawamoto sisters: Akari, Hinata, and Momo. Unlike Rei, they live happily in their modest home, which they warmly welcome Rei into as if he were one of their own. Despite his reservations about becoming too close to the family, he frequently visits, interacting with them and receiving the kind of care and affection he never quite had while under his foster home.

This is the story of Rei's triumphs and failures, relationships new and old, and his growth as a person.

I don't know about you but I am very excited for this opportunity to see another Umino Chika masterpiece to be animated! The characters seem as charming and relateable as the ones in Honey and Clover. It may not be action-oriented like Eden of the East, but you are sure to have major feels while relating to Rei and his coming-of-age story!

Christmas is the best time of the year to fall in love and make a lifelong friend. Everywhere in the real world, they are trying to tell us (otaku!) all that there are many, countless unlikely couples. That is, a pair of people who share love and spend time with each other.

Personally, I've never been in a real loving couple before. I have always wanted to be with someone who would tell me that they would love me and mean it. Love is hard to come by in today's Era and it seems like we're all looking for it, and for happiness.












No two snowflakes are alike, but they're all drops of crystalline water that reflected the sun's light rays from outer space. That's like everyone, reflecting the sun's warmth, but for a drop of water to become a crystal it absorbs some of the sun's light, the atmosphere, and combines it with the particles inside that drop of water. Maybe that's why we all want love and happiness so much.

What about the hungry caterpillar that goes into their chrysalis cocoon and then moment after moment vibrates continuously, making just a little warmth so that it can become a beautiful butterfly?! That's like the constant vibrations and signals we send out daily so that we, people, can find love and happiness in this life.

When Christmas is here, there is so much light and deco that it's hard for anyone to pass up it's majestic beauty. People in the heart of Tokyo just like people in New York City go out or stay in so they can feel the warmth of Christmas. Its not going to be found in a shounen, shoujo, or shounen-ai anime either.

Everyday everyone has the chance to meet someone new. Even someone who might want to fall in love with you. A snowflake or a caterpillar would never try to find love because they have one goal, to be beautiful. People want beauty in life but they pass up the beautiful relationships that are formed every single day, to keep looking for beauty. This December, find an unlikely love, a person, place, or thing that makes you feel warmth and beauty. It is unlikely that you'll ever get this time back in the future and your now Beautiful Self!

Month of Unlikely Anime Couples, December!

This movie is called, "The Year Without a Santa Claus"

 It's December! 

The month of Christmas Coolness in all of its colorful, illuminated, and glorious forms! Also of chilly, red noses; hot chocolate, Christmas movies, decorating trees with ornaments and lights, vacations, movies and/or live Christmas shows, Santa Claus, St. Nick, Frosty the Snowman, Santa's elves, snow angels, snowmen, snowfall, Bing Crosby, The Love Hina Christmas special and so much more!

Here at the Otaku Reviewers weblog, we decided to mix it up just a little bit. So from us to you, December will be the "Month of Unlikely Anime Couples"!

Winter can be one of the best times of the year to become a couple with somebody else. In anime, there are a lot of would-be couples that just didn't make it. The same happens to most normal people in their own lives, and leaves us wondering... why?   θ＼(；￢_￢)

Anyway as December rolls on so will the Otaku Reviewers and we will be posting cool fan stuff often, dedicated to the Unlikely Character Pairs of Anime that could have been, a couple!
