The Four Tsundere Wonders

Hello everyone and welcome to my review on the Four Tsundere Wonders!

First off, let me introduce to those who don't know, what "tsundere" actually means!

Tsundere is actually a combination of the words tsuntsun and deredere.
-TsunTsun means "to turn away in disgust"
-DereDere means "to turn lovey-dovey"

Tsundere characters are one of my favorite type of characters. They basically seem to be mean at first and then at moments show their cute soft side. All of these characters are from well-known tsundere-romance animes. An even better reason to group these four together is because they are all voiced by my favorite voice actress--Rie Kugimiya!

Picture analysis:
These are some of the most well known tsundere characters, and personally my favorites.

Characters and their romance struggles:
(Push the buttons for a synopsis! Or just watch the first episodes!)
  • Louise is a wizard from a Royal Family who is said to be a total "zero" in magic. Synopsis:
Louise accidentally ends up summoning a human instead of a creature during her summoning class in school. Although she pretends that she wants it to remain a Master -> Servant relationship, she slowly gets closer to him. But the problem is... will he ever understand her true feelings?
  • Nagi is a very interesting girl from a very rich family. People often underestimate her because of her age. She's smarter than she looks! Synopsis:
One day Nagi meets a boy named Hayate and then hires him to be her butler. Although Nagi seems young, will Hayate ever think of her as an object of love?
  • Taiga comes from my current favorite anime, Toradora! Also ranked #1 on RPGHero's moe-list, this character is very delicate emotionally despite her tsuntsun facade. Synopsis:
Taiga meets a boy named Ryuuji. It turns out that they both like each other's friends at school. As they try to help each other with their relationships, they slowly draw closer and closer to one another. A complicated love-mess is involved. Who deserves true happiness?
  • Shana comes from my second favorite anime, Shakugan no Shana! Synopsis:
Shana, a flame haze (not human), saves a boy named Yuji who was already dead. As Yuji tries to figure out the unexplained, Shana tries to distance herself from him, but how long can she keep that up?
That's all for today! Thanks for reading! :)

Introducing the New Reviewer!--me! :)

Hello everyone! I go by the name Deretsun, and I'm so excited to finally get my first post in! Okay, so here are four things you should know:

(1)
I love anime! :) (obviously)
(2)
As you know, I go by the name Deretsun, which is actually "tsundere" mixed around (if you didn't figure that out already =P). It's actually a reference to Lucky Star, which we'll get to later on :)
(3)
I'm definitely not as experienced in anime as RPGHero or Chansu, but I'll be contributing what I can! I'm going to be reviewing many things from the wonderful world of tsundere characters (more detail on this later) to the anime that is bound to either thrill or move your heart. I'm going to also be reviewing other minor things like my favorite voice-actors and my all-powerful moe-list ^^. I'll be making tons of recommendations as I slowly become more exposed to anime! I'll also be keeping my anime list updated on MyAnimeList.net so you can track me and even follow me on my anime-venture! I plan to watch tons of anime this summer, so if you want to keep up, you're going to have to try really hard!

In addition! (What, there's more??) Yup!--I'm going to be adding tons of videos including AMVs and holiday specials to keep you guys entertained! ;)

(...of course that means when I actually have time. But since it's finally summer, you can expect a bunch of awesome AMVs from the Otaku Reviewers!)
and lastly,
(4)
I'm studying Japanese and having a Japanese step-family (half-sisters, step-mom + their family) really helps, so I'll be throwing in here and there bits and pieces of Japanese culture! You also might see me write some messages in Japanese--so if you want to decode it you might wanna start learning it yourself! :P

Well that's all for now, look forward to my reviews! Thanks everyone!

またね!

Chansu's Review of Japan Day 2010!

[check out this awesome site for more information about Japan Day at central park!]

The date was June 6th 2010. The place was Central Park. And the people were RPGHero and chansu! Can you guess what was going down?

...

That's right guys, New York's annual Japan Day! Every year for the past 4 years New York's Central Park has been the home to hundreds of thousands of Japanese, Japanese-American, and Japanese culture enthusiasts for just a single day, where the focus is... Japanese culture!

Japan day was PACKED. Even arriving when things were winding down, the place was packed with people hanging out and enjoying the finale: a chorus led by Sadao Watanabe singing "We are the world" in Japanese.

Although we made it there too late to actually experience the splendor of Japan day, there was tons of things that had been going on. There was a stand of free Japanese pamphlets, yoyo fishing, Kabuki face painting, hand fan making, Japanese traditional music showcase, free japanese cuisine (with a complementary line!), and of course a huge stage of performers going on all day.

If you live near the Manhattan area I would highly suggest you go there, it's a lot of fun. Just make sure you get there early (usually starts at around 8) so you can get all the free stuff before everyone else!

Pictures!

[And you thought "Taiko no Tatsujin" was fun, check out these awesome drums! Of course there were other instruments...]

[And this is what the tent sounded like!]

[Pretty much the only cosplayer there (though there may've been others)... Yusei Fudo of "Yu-Gi-Oh 5Ds]

["We Are The World" with Sadao Watanabe... truly a moving piece!]

Remember guys, everyday is Japan Day!

Welcome to
The Otaku Reviewers

This blog, "The Otaku Reviewers", was started in February of 2010 on this very same platform, Blogger. At first, it was a venture into the informational and informal world of comics, anime, video games, and Japanese culture. In other words, just a random blog.

Over time, the founder of the blog credited with the pseudonym "RPGhero" was joined by two fellow bloggers and friends with the names "Chansu" and "Deretsun". Together the three bloggers looked up interesting Japanese culture facts, recommended new anime, talked about their own "otaku" interests, and traveled across the United States to various anime conventions.

There have been off periods when the blog ceased production of content and there have been times when there would be dozens of blog posts per week. The schedule varies depending on the lives of the people behind the alias'. However the pattern is that we always get back into the game with even newer information about Japanese culture, anime, video games, and other nerdy hobbies.

The motto of our blog is:
"A cure for your apathy and an inspiration for your dreams. ...Applies to Otaku, anime fans, J-pop junkies, and the like"

The purpose is to blog about cool stuff related solely to anime and otaku stuff. There's no other reason we're doing this.

If you like our blog, please support us in however small a way that you would like. We appreciate our readers!

Check it out on Amazon!
