The Making of a Delivery Cat (Otaku Story)

"Why won't you eat?"

'Why do I have to eat that?'

"Because it tastes sweet and will make you strong!"

'I doesn't taste sweet at all'

"That's because you're one weird one"

'No! I am not!!!'

"Suit yourself then young fur, you'll be purring for kibble soon..."

Feminist-friendly Anime and their Fringe Guys

Feminist-friendly Anime and their Fringe Guys

No one wants to be misunderstood the way Naraku is actually understanding of himself... He is the king of the world under Inuyasha's world (2 levels below Kagome's world) or adjacent, after thousands of episodes nobody knows anymore.

A plus, he's the one who demons turn to when they need a shoulder and a helping hand. Just that he, is not physically able to handle keeping his human form without his own kind (full-blooded demons) present.
Having an adjustable dial implanted in ones head is all hard work, and no pay. But there's freedom to adjust it at will, right? What could be better, than Prof. Stein, in a kind of anime popular with the feminine anime watching crowd (of today). (Than themes of obvious darkness, and light) That's way better than having to explain why you're traveling between the worlds to a bunch of chronologically younger individuals...

Plus, he's popular with fangirls because he helps Maka and Soul.

Inuyasha and Sesshomaru have different views and friends. In common, both of them don't want to ultimately end up as a dog skyscraper meaning that they don't really understand the way that humans related to stronger demons, before they (started the first episode) had become stronger. Despite all that, both are strong demons just not too much emotionally.

In addition, who knows where in the world this picture is from???
Soul, pictured on the left, is a manly kind of character. The only thing missing, is the lack of not being a scythe, as specifically a scythe. Not sure if a scythe is an appliance or a tool, but they sure are exceptionally friendly. Best used for harvesting grain (appliance) and enhancing intimidation (tool) (now you know), they really don't need another usage or explanation of use (see later; death scythe as appliance). Though, if Soul was not a Scythe maybe he would be just perfect for Maka.

That and, Maka's biological dad is also... a Scythe for an actual grim reaper! (AAH! :O)

Interestingly enough, these guys are popular and the animes are too. The anime because not much is clear to us about how they're going to grow, get stronger, and mature. The guys because they're all VERY LIKEABLE. Having other characters that have a heart of gold or evil, makes that seem more clear, but that's because they're anime... But they're popular with us all anyway because they're also wildly popular with the ladies, ironically enough! How many fangirls agree that these guys are fanworthy?

Otaku Reviewers: RPGhero Rants

Hi all! RPGHero here!

What if tomorrow was your last day on Earth? Does that seem scary? It truly is scary, and it makes me truly fear leaving everything behind. I'd never see another anime, hug another human being, or go on a trip anywhere (let alone to an anime convention or concert).

The things we do make us who we are! If I was never into Japanese anime or Japanese music, I don't think I would be a good person. There are some days where it's harder for me to be good because I feel like nobody else agrees with the way of life I love. There's nothing wrong with them, they just never had the chance to give Japanese anime or music a serious chance, they're the ones who miss out in the end! Japanese culture is very good to me, even though other people think it's corny, I love it even though I'm African-American.

Thank you Japan for your great culture, great music, and great anime! :D

Super Mario RPG Nostalgia!!!

Remember that game that came out somewhere after the mid-1990's that sold out at Funcoland and was always missing at Blockbuster when you went to rent it?

That game was most likely Super Mario RPG or SMRPG for short! Whether or not you were about 9 or 10 back than is different though. What most people agree on is that SMRPG was a hit and one of the best Mario games that has ever came out, at least until the Nintendo Gamecube was released...

The Secret Boss, Culex

The Toadstools that were hypnotized by Davey Jones, the Pirate Boss from the bottom of the ocean...

So Smithy and the gang take over Bowsers Keep

...and Mario gets along with Bowser!!!

The Protagonists of  SMRPG fan art!

One of the cult-fan bases that started was for Geno fans. Geno's character was actually more important than one may think, at least contrary to the first time you played as a kid (if the first time that you played SMRPG was as a child). Geno was special because he knew who Smithy was before the story even began and was the only good guy that came from the same Super-Universe as Smithy... to help Mario and his friends!

SMRPG good guys and bad guys
Another new character to SMRPG was Mallow who believed that he was a frog. Though he looked like a cloud and was plagued with self-doubt over the whole appearance-doesn't-match-my-soul thing, until Mario with Mallow's help, discovered his home was in the clouds... Even after Mallow found out he was from a land in the sky, he never gave up on his identity as a frog...

The SMRPG world map.
No matter how many times I've played SMRPG, the SMRPG world always seems to take more or a lot less time. Sometimes I think it's going to take forever and it goes by really fast or I'm going to breeze through it and it takes longer than I thought haha :D

A remastered picture of the SMRPG world map!

Fanart of Mario and Princess Peach

Super Mario RPG and the Seven Stars

Even if they release five more FF or KH games, I'll still probably be always loyal to the SMRPG title. Without SMRPG, Square and Enix wouldn't have learned enough to continue making good games in their other long runners like FF or KH.

Gintoki's Wisdom

"Whether I go or not, I'll die anyway. I have an organ more important than my heart. Although you can't see it, I feel it going through my head down to my feet, and I know it exists within me. It lets me stand on my feet, it lets me walk forward without trembling. If I stop here, I feel like it would break... My soul will break." -Gintoki

JRPG: Caption Caution

Technically speaking, the Pokemon card game was the most popular RPG card game and trading card game. Each type of card had its own HP, MP, and strategic moves. The play pitted one person's Pokemon against the playable traits of the other person's hand. With dice and special pieces, there were the additions of ailments or powers. It was one of the best RPG and there were mall tournaments all across Japan and North America where enthusiasts played their custom deck against others. A true RPG is one that can be played slower, like cards. Maybe one that can be played fast or real time, reminiscent of Kingdom Hearts or SMRPG. Those games didn't allow reaction time errors on the level of milliseconds, maybe more mechanically in SMRPG.

The Extraordinary Stubborness of Shipright Tom!

The

Extraordinary

Stubbornness
of

S h i p r i g h t   T o m ! ! !

Shipright Tom working on a sailing ship at Water 7
Ah, Water-7, the most famous and suspenseful arc in One Piece, right?

A million things happening at once, a secret syndicate out for heads, another secret government organization vying for world domination... Then there's Luffy's crew and the people surrounding mysterious yet crazy Franky, of his self-titled Franky House.

But what about Franky's role model, Shipright Tom??? This post is about him!

Family picture, right? Bad timing...

Franky before destroying the blueprints for the PLUTO weapon
You can't really be a fan of Shipright Tom without being or secretly being a fan of Franky. Maybe (not) even vice versa (lol!). But what's Franky's claim to appeal, in Water 7, if not Shipright Tom? Well let's review the key scenes of the Water 7 arc that include good ol' Franky.

Water 7, if you're a big fan, is centered around the ships and blueprints there, at Water 7. What had been the big deal was that The Strawhats and Robin traveling to Water 7 area, which was going to provide CP9 and the World Government with enough chaotic cover to attempt to find the blueprints for the Legendary Weapon that was alluded to earlier in the One Piece series. While all that was going on, they were going to try to capture all of them, Robin and the Strawhats, (including Monkey D. Luffy) for their individual bounty money and poster.

The Franky House
The only character who hadn't had a record yet was Franky, he lived at Water 7. He was pretty well off and the leader of some kind of weird cultish group of comrades. Mostly good-for-nothing since he wasn't really making ships, just ship mods. So when he got involved with The Strawhats at Water 7, they changed the whole course of what CP9 and the gov't had planned...

The other person with the complete blueprints for the Legendary Weapon was Iceberg-san, Franky's adopted brother. Not particularly cool or with abilities, Iceberg-san is smarter than Franky both at the art of ship design and in most other areas. That including, mouse rearing hahaha.  ---(Tyrannosaurus the mouse)--------->

So with Iceberg-san, his problems started when he was confronted by The Strawhats to fix their new boat, The Going Merry. Which he obliged, even with their criminality status as rogue rookies. The mystery was, whether or not Iceberg actually knew that his key shiprights were part of CP9.

In Water 7, the arc, Nico Robin does become a prisoner to CP9 and is eventually sent to its leader "Spandam". There a sort of struggle ensues where she will have to be taken to the execution center Enies Lobby, by Spandam himself. She's in sea-salt cuffs so she can't use her Devil's fruit power.

But luckily, there's Franky and Franky has nothing better to do...!

FLASHBACK:  Franky was the reason Spandam wore a facial mask in the first place...

Once free, Robin immediately used "Clutch" on Spandam
And again! hehehe

During that time, The Strawhat pirates were using the second and last remaining water-train to get to Enies Lobby for Luffy to rescue Robin and fight Rob Lucci. The time it would have taken for that water-train to finally get there, without Franky already there, would have meant certain disaster for their nakama, Robin.

Franky's showdown with CP9's top brawler

For Tom, the shipright business was going to take off. He would head off to Enies Lobby and the Marines would approve of his shipright business in the honor of the Water 7 train system that he built and perfected. All was going to plan. That was, until Franky was testing out his battle ships on the incoming marine envoy! Which destroyed many of the marine ships, to freekin' piss them all off! They were going to be on fleek! ...correction ---> Fleet!...

The finished Water 7 train running during the night, to get to Enies Lobby express style!
After all of that, Tom took one of Franky's harpoons right to the stomach and accepted his Enies Lobby sentence. The same one that Nico Robin was going to in the future, before Franky came on the scene.

The Extreme Stubborness of Shipright Tom!
Such stubborness led, to Iceberg taking over the Water 7 enterprise, the blueprints, and the shipright business from then on. ...And Franky went off, to the outer area to build the Franky House. Where he started a pirates-only business that would only help Franky's wallet.

Check out the openings for the Water 7 arc. A total of 3 for the whole arc!

Welcome to
The Otaku Reviewers

This blog, "The Otaku Reviewers", was started in February of 2010 on this very same platform, Blogger. At first, it was a venture into the informational and informal world of comics, anime, video games, and Japanese culture. In other words, just a random blog.

Over time, the founder of the blog credited with the pseudonym "RPGhero" was joined by two fellow bloggers and friends with the names "Chansu" and "Deretsun". Together the three bloggers looked up interesting Japanese culture facts, recommended new anime, talked about their own "otaku" interests, and traveled across the United States to various anime conventions.

There have been off periods when the blog ceased production of content and there have been times when there would be dozens of blog posts per week. The schedule varies depending on the lives of the people behind the alias'. However the pattern is that we always get back into the game with even newer information about Japanese culture, anime, video games, and other nerdy hobbies.

The motto of our blog is:
"A cure for your apathy and an inspiration for your dreams. ...Applies to Otaku, anime fans, J-pop junkies, and the like"

The purpose is to blog about cool stuff related solely to anime and otaku stuff. There's no other reason we're doing this.

If you like our blog, please support us in however small a way that you would like. We appreciate our readers!
