Megaman X: Zero Reminds us of our Self-Esteem

"Zero quickly puts his skills to good use, pushing back against the Neo Arcadians and making life better for humanity. As Zero grows accustomed to his new life, he takes up the fight once more. He opens up, getting to know and learning to trust his new friends, almost like a family. This is the place where he belongs, because he is needed and valued. It doesn’t matter if he still struggles to believe in himself, because now he believes in them. And that belief, that selflessness, grants peace of mind. Self-loathing is still self-oriented. It’s one thing to accept your flaws, but it’s another thing entirely to let them go and to be what other people need you to be."

IMO, Zero is a great character to choose and then only say you're examining MegamanX where he saves blue Megaman at the first and only story part of the game. If Zero seems like he doubts himself, how much more blue megaman, right? No, wrong. Way wrong. Blue megaman is the least doubtful character in the Megaman series. Not because he loses at the beginning of MegamanX but because he is a video game character. Even if you, the player, lost.

"You will start over with Blue Megaman and in fact, many experienced gamers have attested to being super able to beat that one Sigma prototype (even on the first play), the new creation of Dr. Wily flinging itself from an unbelievable fleet craft, and so only then... would not need Zero's help.

Maybe we got more emotional (together) in our Megaman X, Let's Play episode ^

:::Tsundere Spotlight:::

Welcome to the first TSL of 2011! On to the post!

This TSL goes to one of the Four Tsundere Wonders: Louise from Zero no Tsukaima!

First I'll talk a little bit about the anime:

Zero no Tsukaima translates to "The familiar of Zero." And for those who don't know what a familiar is, it's a summoned creature. Basically, Louise is called "Zero" because she can't do anything right and consequently, instead of summoning a magical creature to do her bidding, she summons a human: Saito. Basically, it means he was destined for her and a fan service-filled romance ensues.

Louise is born from a noble family and she always trys to prove that she has what it takes to be a good wizard. She doesn't like giving up and keeps on moving forward.

Louise is very well drawn and voiced by my favorite voice actress, Rie Kugimiya (see her in action on our youtube channel here), which makes it very fun to watch. The only things that makes the anime extremely annoying is the oblivious and perverted Saito as well as too much fanservice. But, for just Louise, it's worth watching ^^.

So, obviously, she's a tsundere--but what type? Louise is the typical episodic tsundere that shows both traits of tsun and dere every episode. She dere's of love for Saito, but then tsun's when Saito has his attention on another girl (which usually signals fan service). Jealous Louise is forced to go aggressive and struggles to make Saito like her flat-chested character which I find cute =P.

Will Saito ever see Louise the way she wants her to? What will happen to Louise and Saito in the end? Will Louise ever become a successful wizard? Will people ever stop calling her "Zero"!? If any of these questions peaked your curiosity, you're going to have to watch all three--yes THREE--seasons of Zero no Tsukaima!

You can watch all three openings that don't really spoil much here: [coming soon; edit: coming sometime in the future... when I get to it =P]

Oh! I almost forgot! Let's take a little look at her Tsun - Dere sides, shall we?
(This time I won't label them--you should know by now which is which! =P)

Tsundere & Moe Snapshots:

So don't forget to catch Louise in Zero no Tsukaima!

That's all for now, stay tuned for more!

Thanks for reading ^^,
:::Deretsun:::

Aww, I can't leave your pool souls without a parting picture, now can I? ;)
Well here you go!

Welcome to
The Otaku Reviewers

This blog, "The Otaku Reviewers", was started in February of 2010 on this very same platform, Blogger. At first, it was a venture into the informational and informal world of comics, anime, video games, and Japanese culture. In other words, just a random blog.

Over time, the founder of the blog credited with the pseudonym "RPGhero" was joined by two fellow bloggers and friends with the names "Chansu" and "Deretsun". Together the three bloggers looked up interesting Japanese culture facts, recommended new anime, talked about their own "otaku" interests, and traveled across the United States to various anime conventions.

There have been off periods when the blog ceased production of content and there have been times when there would be dozens of blog posts per week. The schedule varies depending on the lives of the people behind the alias'. However the pattern is that we always get back into the game with even newer information about Japanese culture, anime, video games, and other nerdy hobbies.

The motto of our blog is:
"A cure for your apathy and an inspiration for your dreams. ...Applies to Otaku, anime fans, J-pop junkies, and the like"

The purpose is to blog about cool stuff related solely to anime and otaku stuff. There's no other reason we're doing this.

If you like our blog, please support us in however small a way that you would like. We appreciate our readers!
