Album and Concert Review : Joe Inoue

Joe Inoue is probably most well-known for his song "Closer" from Naruto Shippuden. He writes and performs all vocals and instrumental parts for his music. He does live broadcasts every now and then on Facebook and YouTube.

JOEpop #1
First off, I was surprised when I saw there was 16 tracks. I was expecting like ten, maybe twelve at most. This album is a variety of different genres which can appeal to anyone and everyone even if you can't understand the Japanese lyrics. "Loner Boner" was a bit awkward to hear at first, but it's now one of my favorites. My top favorite from this album has got to be "Krd". I saw Joe's video commentary about the meaning of the song and thought it was unique and beautiful how he wrote it.

Joe Inoue : Live at Izumicon 2017
First of all, I'd like to say seeing Joe Inoue perform live was a dream come true for me. Although I hoped to hear him perform songs from his new albums,  I thought his set list was pretty good and I knew a good amount of the songs he sang. The acoustic version of "Krd" was definitely a highlight of the night. There were some sound issues, but nothing tech couldn't fix in seconds. In between songs, he interacted with the audience. From most of the concerts I've seen in the past, not many people have done that.  He performed "Closer" as his finale and even went live on Facebook for his fans. It was a great way to end the show.

Pokemon is not dead yet!

How many of your friends have admitted to loving Pokemon as a kid? Just about everyone was on the Pokemon bandwagon, right? But then eventually, like all fads, Pokemon (in the US) faded into obscurity. Diamond/Pearl series is only for hardcore fans of Pocket Monsters (and elementary school kids). But in Japan Pokemon is just another anime. It has a following similar to Dragon Ball Z or other long-running series'. Why else would Japan make a whooping 660+ episodes?

Pokemon is far from being old-news to enthusiasts in Japan. And because of that, many Pokemon crossover videos have surfaced on Nico. Check some of them out!

Clannad - Pikachu Daikazoku

Naruto Shippuuden Op 2 - Pokemon Diamond/Pearl Style

Ash Ketchum Fukkireta

So my (and Ash's) advice for you? Don't underestimate the popularity of Pokemon!

Asuma is the man! (Contains old Naruto Shippuuden spoilers)

I haven't been keeping up with Naruto Shippuuden. I sorta fell off the Naruto boat years ago because I thought it was a generic mainstream shounen anime. But long story short I got back into it and I'm now catching up like wildfire!

I know that I'm late in saying this but Asuma is the man!
Do you guys remember when Asuma took on an Akatsuki member and :( was defeated. He was an all around cool guy and I'm sad he's gone well here's a tribute. Thanks to youtube user FotonBurst!'

You will be missed man!

Welcome to
The Otaku Reviewers

This blog, "The Otaku Reviewers", was started in February of 2010 on this very same platform, Blogger. At first, it was a venture into the informational and informal world of comics, anime, video games, and Japanese culture. In other words, just a random blog.

Over time, the founder of the blog credited with the pseudonym "RPGhero" was joined by two fellow bloggers and friends with the names "Chansu" and "Deretsun". Together the three bloggers looked up interesting Japanese culture facts, recommended new anime, talked about their own "otaku" interests, and traveled across the United States to various anime conventions.

There have been off periods when the blog ceased production of content and there have been times when there would be dozens of blog posts per week. The schedule varies depending on the lives of the people behind the alias'. However the pattern is that we always get back into the game with even newer information about Japanese culture, anime, video games, and other nerdy hobbies.

The motto of our blog is:
"A cure for your apathy and an inspiration for your dreams. ...Applies to Otaku, anime fans, J-pop junkies, and the like"

The purpose is to blog about cool stuff related solely to anime and otaku stuff. There's no other reason we're doing this.

If you like our blog, please support us in however small a way that you would like. We appreciate our readers!
