'Twas the Night Before Christmas ... In Gensokyo

It's the day before Christmas,
and all through the Gensokyo
every creature is bullet-dodging
as is the nature of Touhou!

But today is quite special
Today will be the best!
Today is the day of
The Great Gensokyo Santa Contest!

Without further ado
Let's begin this moe-fest!

Marisa & Nitori
The contest begins
with the kappa and the thief.
These Santas would cause more trouble
than any Extra stage chief.

Suwako
It's Kero-chan Santa
with presents for all!
But please watch out for Pyonta,
as he wants to deck your halls.

Yamaxandu
Her looks may deceive you,
she may look short and sweet,
but this straight-and-narrow Santa
will convict you in a heartbeat.

Flandre
It's the Scarlet devil santa!
Her wings always glowing
like Christmas tree lights.
But... was she U.N. Owen?

Okuu
An adorable bird-brained Santa
is not one to dismiss.
Run to your bomb shelters,
it's gonna be a nuclear Christmas.

Alice
A tsundere Santa
obsessed with her dolls.
Her precious thing stolen
until Marisa calls.

Ran

The nine-tailed fox
dons the jolly red suit.
When she's not streaking
she's actually kinda cute.

Youmu
Half-ghost and half-human
she sure can do santa's job.
But watch out for Yuyu,
she'll eat Kon like corn on the cob.

Yuyuko
Sorry Youmu,
looks like you've been demoted.
While this gluttonous ghost princess
has been unanimously promoted.

Houjuu Nue
The legendary monster.
The UFO alien.
Makes a mischeivous Santa
on the Star Lotus ship sailing.

Byakuren
The pure lotus saint
will bring happiness to Christmas.
A beautiful Santa
that naughty kids will miss.

Reimu...
...wait stop the press!
This contest will now be graced
by Gensokyo's strongest!!

Cirno
Her smarts are unrivaled
Her power, immense.
Our favorite snow fairy
passes the Santa test!

She brings us great joy
and is pure of heart.
She is Gensokyo's herald
of Christmas' start!

Reimu
But wait, it's Reimu again!
and what's that on her back?
Our red and white miko
is carrying Santa's sack!

She'll fly to each house
late Christmas eve night,
giving presents to good children
overnight on her flight.

~~~
The battle was amazing,
the Santas, moe.
Our love for Touhou and Christmas
reached it's peak today!
I hope you enjoyed
our little celebration here.
Otaku Reviewers
Wish
you a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!
Anime Peeps I Care About!
Finally a post you can depend on regularly from RPGHero!
Today's post is about Bon Clay! (or Bon Kurei)
You might be wondering why I chose Bon Clay from One Piece when everyone in One Piece is basically awesome...
Well I will fill you in. There may be info that you might want to know by watching the show alone but if you can handle summaries then read on! Bon Clay is was formerly known as Mr. 2 in the Organization known as Baroque Works. Baroque Works founder is Crocodile, the notorius villian that proceded to starve a nation for his own greed. Why would someone I care about be allied with the bad guys??
Well when Bon Clay was working for Crocodile he got defeated by Sanji.
After his defeat my man Bon Clay found out the the guys that he fought against were truly good people and he befriended them!
Did I mention that Bon Clay is possibly gay?
His favorite thing to say is "OKAMA WAY" which in Japanese means Gay way. However that's not why I care about him.
Bon Clay is a passionate person and he gives his all to everything he does. His topmost priority is his friends. He'd do anything for a friend in need. I'll give examples.
Soon after befriending Luffy's crew he created a diversion for them to escape from the Navy (One piece is a show about Pirates remember).
When Luffy was poisoned by the Wardern of Impel Down the man who treated Luffy, Ivankov, said that Luffy's chances of living were slim and close to none. He had to be locked in a Dungeon to either die or overcome the poison (with the help of the antidote). Bon Clay waited outside Luffy's door and shouted "GANBARE!" over and over, and over and over. Until he lost his voice, then he kept shouting even more.
In this clip Bon Clay rescues Luffy! This is before Luffy has to be treated...
And finally Bon Clay played his final diversion to allow Luffy to escape from Impel down. He sacrificed himself for Luffy and his Okama Way. Which I don't think he means literally but the way he's chosen to live for his friends!
Though the subtitles are in Spanish, if you skip to 2:58 (Two minutes and fifty eight seconds) in the video you see where Bon Clay was taken out by the Warden, as he had to stay behind for Luffy to escape.
Yes One Piece is full of moments just like these, helping your friends and sacrificing for those you care about... But that's what even makes Bon Clay cooler! He found his own way to be great!
So now I'll leave you with a quote from Bon Clay,
Bon Clay: "One may stray from the path of a man, one may stray from the path of a woman, but there is no straying from the path of a HUMAN! All friends must scatter into the sky of truth, and blossom!, OKAMA WAY! - by Bon Clay. Scatter upon the water's surface and grow where you may, my fellow blossoms."
Welcome to
The Otaku Reviewers
This blog, "The Otaku Reviewers", was started in February of 2010 on this very same platform, Blogger. At first, it was a venture into the informational and informal world of comics, anime, video games, and Japanese culture. In other words, just a random blog.
Over time, the founder of the blog credited with the pseudonym "RPGhero" was joined by two fellow bloggers and friends with the names "Chansu" and "Deretsun". Together the three bloggers looked up interesting Japanese culture facts, recommended new anime, talked about their own "otaku" interests, and traveled across the United States to various anime conventions.
There have been off periods when the blog ceased production of content and there have been times when there would be dozens of blog posts per week. The schedule varies depending on the lives of the people behind the alias'. However the pattern is that we always get back into the game with even newer information about Japanese culture, anime, video games, and other nerdy hobbies.
The motto of our blog is:
"A cure for your apathy and an inspiration for your dreams. ...Applies to Otaku, anime fans, J-pop junkies, and the like"
The purpose is to blog about cool stuff related solely to anime and otaku stuff. There's no other reason we're doing this.
If you like our blog, please support us in however small a way that you would like. We appreciate our readers!
Check it out on Amazon!
