Anime Review: C - The Money of Soul and Possibility Control

Tonight I will review:
C - The Money of Soul and Possibility Control
When you watch an anime there are certain things that we all look for. They are as follows: Character Development, Artistic Appeal, Opening and Ending Originality and Interestingness, and Plot Complexity. These are our FOUR anime judging qualities and by reviewing this way we can avoid spoilers, I think. So let's begin!

Summary
C. is a show about what the world would be like if the world's economy was run by a hidden esoteric alter-economy that uses the future as trust. Basically if you are one of the chosen few you are given an living entity called an asset which you use to battle other people and their assets. In other words, The Economy: Shounen Battle Anime style. The main character, Kimimaro Yoga, is a high school student who is suddenly visited by a supernatural man in an expensive suit who tells him that he can live the easy life IF he accepts to use his future as collateral for it. He pressures Kimimaro into it with information that his missing father was a part of this world. If you want to know more, WATCH THIS SHOW!

Character Development
The show is only 11 episodes long but I think that they were able to compress a lot of character development into it. There are limitations, for example they can't go deep into character's family history or many of their hobbies but those are not needed. Character relationships are few but intense. The main character's missing father provides a lot of mystery and his relationship with his asset, Mashyu, is very intense. There are many rivals. This show has everything you need! In a short amount of time!

 Artistic Appeal
I was told by Deretsun to include voice actor appeal and this is where it goes! I will only go into the main character voice actors. Mashyu's voice actor is Haruka Tomatsu and she is great at sounding cute! Kimimaro's voice actor is Koki Uchiyama who is also Midnight in Fairy Tail and the Japanese voice of Roxas in Kingdom Hearts, he is good at sounding like a good guy and can be intense. The visual artistic appeal is very cool, they use CG and they use it well.

Opening and Ending Originality
The openings and endings are the best I've ever seen. They chose great songs! The songs fit the show well, I think. Anyway, the songs they chose are epic, you'll look forward to watching these every episode. You might even want to watch them now!
RPG by School Food Punishment (ending)
Matryoshka by Nico Touches the Walls (opening)

Plot Complexity
The plot is very complex. You will be delighted because this is the type of shounen show that you'll want to keep watching but then since it's only 11 episodes you might be disappointed. Most of the plot revolves around an esoteric stock market that uses both Future and Money as collateral so you'll learn a lot about the stock market, in fact you have to know some basic stock market terms to follow the show. Just know that money loses value if there is nothing backing up and you'll be fine.

Overall: Recommended!

Otaku Helping Others! Part 3

Today's "Otaku Helping Others!" post is about...

Being a member of S O C I E T Y

Finding a Job!

You may ask, "What does finding a job have to do with the world of anime and manga?"
And I'll respond, "Any true otaku (anime lover) knows that the world of anime and manga is full of stories where the main character (or side character) must find a job..."

Let's take a look O.O

In the 'slice of life' anime "Clannad", Tomoya, the main character got a job right out of high school. He didn't think college was right for him. In Japan college is a serious place. From an early age school is fairly competitive in Japan, even in high school they post your test scores in rank order. College is naturally the next step in line with all of that.

Nagisa, Tomoya's girlfriend also got a job right out of high school.

Let's learn ROMAJI!!
Romaji is basically Japanese but using the english alphabet, their language comes with it's own writing.
Shigoto - Work or job.
Arubaito - Job or part-time job.
Shigoto is the term that those with a good full-time job will use and arubaito (or simply baito) is used more for part-time jobs and gigs.

In "Great Teacher Onizuka", Onizuka acted on his dream to become the best teacher in Japan. He ended up getting a job at a private school because those schools don't require as many qualifications. The same is true for private schools here.

However before Onizuka became a teacher he thought he would never get a job. That was when he became a truck driver and nicknamed himself GDO, Great Driver Onizuka. Soon after starting that job he found out he was chosen by a private school and sped there using a company truck...

Now who thought that anime cared so much about people getting jobs and making a living?? Did you think it was all saving the world and Kamehamehas??

But sometimes people don't get a job...

In "Welcome to the N.H.K" Sato thought there was a large scale conspiracy against him and dropped out of college. He started to stay in his apartment all day and live off his parent's money. He became a NEET. NEET means "not (in) education employment (or) training".

This girl decided to help him get back on his feet. She wanted to teach him how to go back to society. He looked down on the lessons but they changed him. He slowly wanted to make a living... He started slow making an erotic dating sim with his friend and trying to sell MMO money.

This blog is something like a homage to Welcome to the NHK... However I am working on a baito and would like to find shigoto that could let me buy a house...

What does Cowboy Bebop and Gintama have in common??
Well in both of these anime, the characters do work-for-hire. In Gintama, Gin-sans group does random jobs for the townsfolk. In Cowboy Bebop, Spike, Jet, and Faye are bounty hunters and try to bring in convicted criminals but they always seem to have hard luck getting any real money because the crooks either slip away, get cleared, or some other excuse...

Happy job hunting!!

And remember, follow your dream!

Need Money Advice??

Look no further I have compiled data from various anime in order to give you a handbook of money making and saving tips!

Do you feel like you're down in the dumps? Been gambling away your life savings? Or have the loan sharks been knocking at your door lately? Well have no fear, you can be rich in less than ::cough cough:: days.

Step number one: Envision yourself rich. Once you envision the goal every action you take will be toward getting to that goal. ...I like to envision this whole picture.

Step number two: Do something! Do anything to get closer to your goal. Anything's better than being a Madao though... And you thought I was going to say pinch every penny... Sometimes you gotta let the little money get away so you can chase legitamate amounts of money.

Step number three: Turn your talents into money. If you like to dabble in alchemy transmute some money. If you dabble in computer science create the new gaming system.

Step number four: Only spend your money on your goals. Only spend money on worthwhile persuits. Also, be careful of gold-diggers, even if someone as sexy as Faye asked you for money you just have to say no.

Step number five: Recruit followers, even recruit your friends to help you make money.

Step number six: Money buys any little trinket you want. Even balls with stars in them. And you were thinking I was going to tell you to wish for money using Dragonballs. Hey to each his own. In your world there might be a loophole where you can wish upon little glowing balls, but only if they're attached to... (I don't wanna get sued).

Thank you for reading,
Good luck on your Quest for Money!

Welcome to
The Otaku Reviewers

This blog, "The Otaku Reviewers", was started in February of 2010 on this very same platform, Blogger. At first, it was a venture into the informational and informal world of comics, anime, video games, and Japanese culture. In other words, just a random blog.

Over time, the founder of the blog credited with the pseudonym "RPGhero" was joined by two fellow bloggers and friends with the names "Chansu" and "Deretsun". Together the three bloggers looked up interesting Japanese culture facts, recommended new anime, talked about their own "otaku" interests, and traveled across the United States to various anime conventions.

There have been off periods when the blog ceased production of content and there have been times when there would be dozens of blog posts per week. The schedule varies depending on the lives of the people behind the alias'. However the pattern is that we always get back into the game with even newer information about Japanese culture, anime, video games, and other nerdy hobbies.

The motto of our blog is:
"A cure for your apathy and an inspiration for your dreams. ...Applies to Otaku, anime fans, J-pop junkies, and the like"

The purpose is to blog about cool stuff related solely to anime and otaku stuff. There's no other reason we're doing this.

If you like our blog, please support us in however small a way that you would like. We appreciate our readers!
